About Week Calculator

The Week Calculator is a simple yet powerful tool designed to help users calculate the number of weeks — both full and decimal — between two specific dates. Whether you're planning a project, counting weeks of a pregnancy, managing school terms, or working on a contract timeline, this tool removes all the manual work and gives you instant, accurate answers.

Here’s a real-world example:

This tool is especially useful for project managers, educators, freelancers, HR professionals, students, and anyone involved in scheduling or time tracking. Instead of guessing how long a period lasts in weeks or pulling out a calendar to count manually, the Week Calculator gives you the full picture in just a few seconds.

Say you're organizing a course that starts on April 8 and ends on June 28. By entering those two dates, the Week Calculator will show you:

How many full weeks are between those dates

The total number of days

The exact number of weeks in decimal format (e.g., 11.57 weeks)

This allows you to plan modules, charge for weekly services, or schedule events with confidence. If you're managing a maternity leave, planning a wedding timeline, working on sprints in Agile development, or simply counting down to a vacation, this tool keeps your planning precise and stress-free.

It’s also great for freelancers who invoice by the week or students counting study weeks before exams. The clean, user-friendly interface ensures you get answers fast, with no confusion or clutter.

How Week Calculator Works

Users input:

Starting day

Last day

The tool then calculates:

Weeks Between: Whole weeks

Days Between: Total days

Decimal Weeks: More precise value (e.g., 6.71 weeks)

Assumptions:

A week equals 7 days

The start date is included; the end date is excluded by default

Decimal weeks = Total days ÷ 7

Tip: Use the decimal value for accurate weekly billing or planning fractional-week schedules.

FAQs for Week Calculator

1. Does the calculator include weekends in its count?

Yes, it counts all days (including weekends and holidays) between the two dates.

2. What's the difference between “Weeks Between” and “Decimal Weeks”?

“Weeks Between” gives only full 7-day weeks. “Decimal Weeks” provides a more precise result (e.g., 5.43 weeks).

3. Can I use this tool for pregnancy tracking or maternity leave planning?

Absolutely. Many users rely on it to track weeks of pregnancy or calculate leave durations.

4. Will the calculator work if I input future dates?

Yes. It works for both past and future dates — and even if the start date is after the end date.

5. Can I use this for freelance or contractor payments?

Definitely. The decimal result helps you calculate exact pay for weekly rates or part-week billing.

6. What happens if both dates are the same?

The tool will return zero weeks and zero days since there is no interval between the same date.
